I had posted some time back that I was having a problem with
my Dodge building up pressure in the brake system to the extent that it was causing
the brake lights to come on and smoke brake shoes. Mike Apfelbeck had the
correct answer. There is a compensator hole in the master cylinder casting
that keep the pressure from building up with the pumping action and I was unaware
of this. I had rebuilt the one on the car with a kit and it stopped fine so I
did not connect the dots but I should have. A new master cylinder cured the
problem.
