57 buried...or
not!
So they buried a 57
Plymouth, damn near 50 years ago,
any bets on the winner, will
ever leave with that car in tow.
Will they find a complete auto
and all that is within,
or just a heap of rust, five tires, a
comb and hairpin.
Some bubble gum, a bank account and
other 57 stuff,
will she shine like new or just look,
a llittle tired and rough.
Will the contest end
gracefully with a winner bearing a smile,
or a heap of taxes, lawyers fees and
a bitter taste of a trial.
She lays down inside her bed made of
concrete and some steel,
and on a day this June it's said, the
truth will be revealed.
What if they find a tunnel, a hidden
path below,
tire tracks leading out...where the
hell could it go.
Or maybe through a
miracle or some scientific feat,
when the vault is finally opened it's
not a 57 they greet.
What if they find set of
bones with a note clutched in it's hand,
an old poor soul who hid inside with
an idea all too grand.
He says she's gone to a
place, oh so well deserved,
and if you ever find her, she is
completely preserved.
So to those forwardlooking souls who
are making this journey to far off Tulsa land,
be warned, as all you may find,
buried below, is clay, stones and sand.
John in WI... hoping to be
there!
