The SEMA Action Network works on federal and state and
some local law issues. If you feel your state is unjustly taxing your
collector car relative to how they tax newer cars, bring it to SEMA and through
them get all the car hobby organizations in your state up in arms to do
something about it. They have lobbyists. They have influenced a huge
amount of hobby-friendly legislation in many states and have been doing it for
many years. They send out a monthly e-newsletter of what is going on
everywhere in the country. If you haven't been supporting them previously,
you should be now.
and an older article about some victories they have
won.

$45 and never ever been stopped for regular use of my collector licensed
vehicles.
