I haven't reviewed the original documentary footage, but I
believe that there never was any microfilm. The film container that was found on
the back seat was a reel of motion picture film from the local theatre, circa
1957. Microfilm would have been on a much smaller spool, probably 3 to 4 inches
wide. All the guesses were contained in the time capsule buried next to the car.
When the capsule was opened tonite, everything from an oversized American flag
(48 stars) to a high school yearbook to a scroll with the population guesses,
was in mint condition, like it had just been buried yesterday.
Still fuming over Boyd's animals breaking out the vent
windows in an attempt to open the car doors. Also attempts to shine the chrome
and stainless take away from the overall look of the car. After seeing the car
up close, fenders seemed to be solid, as did quarter panels. Inside of trunk lid
seemed to have most severe rust problems. Engine was toast as was
interior.
Can this car be restored ? From what I have seen so
far, yes.

Subject: [FWDLK] Condition.
Muddy, wet, interior gone, rear springs broken.. Chrome
will shine up on front bumper. Boyd's gorillas broke out driver' vent
window. Microfilm was in back seat -- destroyed. Tires hold
air!!! Engine was submerged at some point.
Time capsule perfect inside. Copies of paper contest
guesses to be used for awarding car.
No keys anywhere to be found.
