I'm not sure what the white lines are, actually. They seem to have appeared after the lid was removed (I don't remember seeing them in earlier shots).
No, we didn't touch the dipstick. Fortunately, they were not allowing many people to touch the car. There is no doubt it's full of water though.

I noticed a couple of things on you pictures that you might be able to shed some light on, first was in the empty vault there were white lines coming down the walls around a third of the way from the front of the car when it was in there, did it look like there was a seam going down the wall? The other thing was on the engine shot of Miss Belvedere the dip stick was pulled up, were you able to dip it to see if the engine was full of water or had the engine been drained and fresh oil added in an attempt to free up the engine?

Hi All,
My wife Juley and I took hundreds of pictures of the unearthing/unveiling. It was one heck of a good time, regardless of the unfortunate final condition of the car.
The Forward Look site has actually been knocked offline several times due to the huge increase in traffic we have had recently (over 10x average), so please bear with the slow loading speeds.
If anyone has pictures they would like to add, please email them to me at this address and I’ll post them up online. We would especially love to get pictures of the –people- who attended, as unfortunately I’m not very good at remembering to get pictures of shiny faces instead of shiny grilles. As an additional note, if you have videos you would like to share, we will be compiling a complete video set with as much stuff as we can fit. More on that later.
