Ron -
I'll happily sell my '57 Dodge Custom Royal
Suburban any time if someone wants to rebuild it - it's about the only halfway
decent Forward Look car we have right now.
Seriously, all you can do with guys like that is
try to be around when they kick off, maybe you can buy them all
cheap.
Someone on the HAMB posted a few photos of an
Illinois or Indiana collection that a guy has simply stopped paying rent on and
disspaeared. The cars were mostly Studebakers and Cadillacs.
One Packard Hawk, nearly split in two but complete. Cadillac Eldorado
Seville convertibles, all in rough shape - but still easily worth $10,000 or
more each. And the land owner thinks it's just old junk.
But if you took out a second mortgage, you could probably buy every car there
for scrap price, as long as you hauled them away. Heck, resell three
cars and you could buy a brand new rollback and still scrap every other one and
pay back the entire mortgage.
All it takes is willingness to do some work and a
lot to store them at while you sell 'em.
