i was in the powdercoating business for about 3 years in the late-90s.... the trick to not infiltrating the threads is to put a wrap or 2 of teflon tape on "disposable" bolts as the item is powder coated... the teflon holds up to the baking temps and creates a clean "break-point" for the coating... just throw out the coated bolts, same goes for pressed surfaces like control arm bushings- i use sockets from the made-in-taiwan socket sets they give away at autozone, roll some foil on them to make a weak press-fit or also, make a sheet metal roll to put in place of a bushing shell.
you never want to put lube on anything to be coated, since it will leach on the surface under heat, thus the powder will chip away around the treated/afflicted area
