Unless I missed some documemtation, in the puffery (I mean: description-
of- item) this is merely a promotional photo, of/for Kiekaefer, as he
was too smart to race his Dodges against his 300's in (m-)any races, as
the cars served specialized racing purposes; the 300's were too big &
heavy to compete in the short county-fair dirt tracks, and the 500's
were too underpowered to compete on the big-boy tracks, with the 300's.
I do have The History of Daytona Racing ( Vol's #1 & #2) in my office,
which lists all NASCAR results, in the 50's, so, varifying any Kiekaefer
competition between the 500's & the 300's, on the same track, against
each other, will be easy enough to do.
BTW, this seller is merely selling re-prints from the original negative,
which he is keeping.
Still, it's a nice photo, but hardly unique, as there were a lot of
publicity shots made of the Kiekaefer racing stable, and its drivers.

1956 Dodge D-500-1 VS 1957 D-501 with guess star the Chrysler 300
B
Wow, and the debate goes on.!!!!! I
guess everybody has seen the photo on E bay For Sale, of the 1956
Hemi Dodge D-500-1 running neck and neck with the mighty Chrysler
Hemi 300 B. The photo was taken doing a Official NASCAR RACE. I bet
that photo may have something to do with re-igniting the debate
that we have all be following on this web
site??????!!!!!!
