Back when my car competed in WPC Club national meets (three Firsts in Class), the entries were judged by the attending members and the judging was rather subjective, as opposed to critically objective, by several knowledgeable 'experts'. The East Coast 300 club used to ding any car that had any equipment installed on it which hadn't been OEM installed, as they had "acquired" the original IBM Build Cards, from the factory, so they could tell if a car had had one, two, or no outside rearview mirrors factory-installed on it, and they did not recognize the non-Letter cars, for judging purposes. SO: going back to Wayne's correct comment about any dealership being more than happy to bling-up a Letter (or, any-other-) Car, the WPC Club's members would probably smile upon a correctly dressed-out car, while the Eastern'ers would definitely frown upon it. How do you suppose that future car shows will judge today's current crop of really-blinged-out cars, with all their (by then) Unobtanium trim and wheels and seats?---probably a separate judging class, huh? Actually, there is a recent judging class, for hopped-up vintage cars, called "Day Two", which recognizes the installation of period-correct trim/equipment, like Cragar wheels and multiple carbs, on a Road Runner.
