I just bought a return hose last week. It has to be oil resistant or bad stuff will eventually happen. I had a sample of the old hose. Even the veteran counter guy seemed perplexed for a minute. He said he hadn't seen anything that size in years. He checked a catalog and went in the back room. He came out with a dusty box. Just enough inside to do the job.
I don't want to change the thread to a debate about auto parts stores but I think there's a need to develop a good relationship with an old time parts store. These are the places that service the repair garages. Their willingness to look in catalogs (much at the store level is still not on computer) and advice is priceless. He'll tell me the difference in quality if there are multiple choices. I'm in there enough that they give me the commercial rate. Its comparable to on-line prices and I don't have to cover shipping or worry about a return.
