[FWDLK] Disassembling a Dual Strut Mirror

Hey Gang -

I need to disassemble a 1957-64 Mopar dual strut mirror (1773071). Removing 
the base is easy. But how do you separate the tapered cylindrical shaft from 
the mirror head ? I removed the screw at the back (the one with the cross 
slots for adjusting the head), but the mirror head still appears to be 
attached, even though it's loose, adjustment-wise.
