I'm 40, had my '55 Belvedere "officially" since I was 16. So that's 24 years down, 58 to go, which puts me at age 98 if I'm to match the kindly old gent for continuous ownership duration. My paternal grandpa is currently 92.5, but is slowing down. So a 98-year life expectancy for me may not be impossible. However I won't have the honor of having had a car since new since my earlier years. My dad bought me a new '89 Sundance RS when I was 18 (which I ordered to my preferences), but I sold that in 1996 and I think it ended up getting totaled (and maybe crushed) not too long after that. Such a pity...LOL... None of my current cars have I owned since new; don't see myself getting a brand-new car for a LONG time (if ever). That's 45 years.....just 37 to go. Guess that is doable since I'm only 63. -- Charles White ---- Gary Pavlovich <glpavlovich@xxxxxxx> wrote: > I am the second owner of my '56 Plymouth; had it since I was 16yrs. old and am now 58. > > Gary P. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Adam Lindenbaum > To: L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Thursday, December 02, 2010 12:06 PM > Subject: Re: [FWDLK] FW: Man Owned & Drove Same Car for 82 YEARS > > > I've had my '57 Savoy since I was 18 and many of the parts on it were off of my 1st '57 which I got when I was 15, I'm 41 now but I doubt I'll live to be old enough to catch up to Mr. Swift so oh well, I'm out of the competition. > Adam Lindenbaum > > > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Jan & Roger van Hoy <vanhilla@xxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: L-FORWARDLOOK <L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Wed, Dec 1, 2010 10:38 pm > Subject: Re: [FWDLK] FW: Man Owned & Drove Same Car for 82 YEARS > > > Well, Mr. Swift is now dead, so you might catch up to his 102 years > > eventually... but since he was given his new Rolls at age 20 and had it 82 > > years, you've got 60 years to go... anyone want to wager? > > > > --Roger van Hoy, Washougal, WA, '55 DeSoto, '58 DeSoto, '56 Plymouth, '66 > > Plymouth, '41 Dodge > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "Eastern Sierra Adjustment Svc" <esierraadj@xxxxxxxxxxx> > > To: <L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > > Sent: Wednesday, December 01, 2010 11:10 AM > > Subject: Re: [FWDLK] FW: Man Owned & Drove Same Car for 82 YEARS > > > > > > > I've care-take'ed Horace since 10/80. > > > > > > Got a way's to go, to catch up w/Mr. Swift. > > > > > > > > > Neil Vedder > > > > > > > > > Vraa, Paul wrote: > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> *From:* Pvraa [mailto:pvraa@xxxxxxx] > > >> *Sent:* Wednesday, December 01, 2010 7:40 AM > > >> *To:* Vraa, Paul > > >> *Subject:* Fwd: Man Owned & Drove Same Car for 82 YEARS > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> -----Original Message----- > > >> From: James Bratvold <jimbratvold@xxxxxxxxxxx> > > >> To: David Martinz <wdavidmartinz@xxxxxxxxxxx> > > >> Sent: Tue, Nov 30, 2010 9:00 pm > > >> Subject: Man Owned & Drove Same Car for 82 YEARS > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> Can you imagine having the same car for 82 years! > > >> > > >> I guess it was no longer under warranty... > > >> > > >> > > >> *"How Long Have You Owned Your Car?"** * ** > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> *Mr. Allen Swift (Springfield , MA.) received this 1928 Rolls-Royce > > >> Picadilly P1 Roadster from his father, brand new - as a graduation gift > > >> in 1928. * > > >> > > >> *He drove it up until his death last year.....at the age of 102 !!!* > > >> > > >> *He was the oldest living owner of a car from new.
