Larry, if you have your single-pot M/C's be overhauled and bushed, they will not leak or fail, as they might if/when they get aged. However, if you want to go to the expense (any 'used' dual-pot M/C should be overhauled & re-bushed, too, at a cost of around $150.00- $200.00), if your car(s) has power brakes, the only-best dualie M/C which will fit underneath the booster is what I call the (mid-60's) "Low- Boy", or, the "Butterfly Closure" unit, because it is both very lowprofile (the resevoirs hold very little fluid in them) and it has a centrally- bolted, single, swing-around steel closure strap on it. If you have manual brakes, the "sky" is the limit on the height of the M/C that you select; some are very tall-fellows. The "Low-Boy" is a bolt-in affair, and you do NOT need to try to plumb in its (fake-) "apportioning valve"---that 'valve is only there to service a brake-fluid warning light on the 60's cars)...but you WILL need to plumb-in your car's brake light switch to the "Low-Boy", as it has no provisions forthat device on it, and, the front brake lines will be needed to be a different diameter from the rear brake line's diameter.This-all can be done, but, the easiest protocol is just to O/H a single-pot M/C, to prevent any leakages from occurring in/from it. Safety plus-up would be nice. Once had a single system go out on a 62 Lancer and it was exciting.
