Just food for thought, I had a 1961 Dodge Polara S/W. One day the Tranny just quit working. Towed it home. Just for giggles I dropped the Transmission pan, changed the filter, new fluid and it worked for years after that. Mike I would recommend a tranmission oil change done at a dealer/tranmission shop or a shop known to you to be reliable. None of the "quicky" jobs at the car wash say. You need to be certain most of the oil actually gets changed. Besure the filter is also replaced. Do this first before using any additives. Theycan always be added if the problem persists after the oil change. The problem could be worn, hardened seals which may possibly respond toadditives but it could also just be old/dirty fluid. Try that first and if it still hasthe problem, then decide if you think it is seriuos enough to try addititves. ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1 Mike Singer Phone: 814-486-1881 Work 814-486-1010 Home Fax: 814-486-2080 e-mail: desoto@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx 11769 Route 120Emporium, PA ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1 |
