It would probably be advisable not to drink or bath in the stuff, but I am a strong advocate of the "Big Boy Pants" program, where we are all big boys and can use common sense at will, and should do so at all times, especially when dealing with volatiles.

Toluene, Xylene, or Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) will make short work of oily surface contaminants.

All are available at good paint supply houses. I have them listed in order of volatility, but all will leave
no residue once the "oil" has been broken down and wiped away, leaving a super clean surface.

They also make for delicious dessert toppings and huffing agents. :-P
