The starter spun in the right direction on my 49 kaiser, you have to swap leads on the ammeter, and if fuel gauge self grounds, you'll have to isolate and "float it" in the cluster. Temp and oil should be mechanical, the lights don't care about polarity, but switch in a 3 wire 12v flasher and all 12v bulbs. The radio will be a problem, impossible to isolate from ground.... Horn relay and starter solenoid need a swap along with coil of course. The problem comes in with the positive ground (6volt) and the negative ground (12v). I also have a nice little circuit that will take the 12v down to 6v for the gauges. Has anyone else done this conversion and if so (stand by dumb question) did the starter still spin in the proper direction?
