I have a 58 Ply and I changed out t he rear end and installed a 68 Plymouth  Fury rear end with an 8.3/4 gear.. It dropped right on the spring perches. Reason==   I wanted flanged axles and a rear wheel parking brake.I did not use disc brakes on it tho.

One should work in your Dodge too.   same as ply. And the kit you have will probably work on it.

I've used them for years on road cars with no issues.  Somewhere back in the stone age they had problems with them and they got a bad reputation.  I remember getting told off by people about them back in the 90s.  I was told they'd never hold up, fall out at speed, couldn't take the power being put through them, blah, blah, blah.  I was really just warning everyone in case they heard this from anyone.  It's still a popular myth in my opinion.  btw, the same people told me the Ford 9 inch was just a junk knockoff of the 8 3/4.  Yeah......suuuuuuure it is.....

 

And dont get me started on the sacrilege of installing a Ford reached in a mopar.......the nerve!   :)

Green bearings work just fine on road cars. The ford 9”, widely used for oval track racing, has ball bearings.

Green bearings convert the factory conical roller bearings to actual roller bearings.  This is fine for drag cars which put a lot of horses to the pavement. Drag cars generally go in straight lines...not so good for road cars.  But since you probably aren't daily driving this car it shouldn't be a problem.  You'll have to have them pressed onto the axles.  I've had several sets done on 8 3/4 rears in the past.  They are only for 8 3/4 rears so far as I know.  Never had a failure.  Last set I got from mancini racing.

I converted my front brakes to disc several years ago, and now want to convert the rear brakes as well.  I found a kit for the rear brakes here: http://www.ecihotrodbrakes.com/rear_discbrake_conversions.html

 

There’s a note which states “Chrysler product rear axles require one piece "GREEN" axle bearings.”  Can anyone tell me what ‘green’ axle bearing are, and where I can obtain them?
