The car was at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale. One of the state inspectors who fancies himself an expert on letter cars (but isn't) declared the vin tag to be improper and they slapped a state issued vin on the car.
He did not know where the secret stamping's are on those cars and not understand how the tags are properly affixed. He was a late 60s early 70s muscle car expert, who decided to declare himself an expert on other cars.
Very frustrating to see the history of this car get hurt so badly. It's a wonderful car with a couple of great options (as has already been discussed).
