Hi Don,
Like the "Field of Dreams", if you do it again, God willing, I would come
again!
Great job. My son and I had a wonderful time.
You are a wonderful asset to our Club.
Please thank Jack the historian again for sharing his knowledge. He was a
wonderful color commentator about Rhode Island and the world around it.

Horseless Carriage is probably the way to go if it is a show car and needs
to be transported in an enclosed transport.
If outside transport on a traditional car carrier will suffice, talk to Tony
at www.transcar.org. Very reasonable prices and I've had good luck with
them.
Both will offer insurance if you make specific requests for same.

Hi all,
I came across an ad in the July, Mopar Collectors Guide I thought might be of interest to some.
It goes like this: 1957 Hemi engine out of Chrysler 300, block # 3NE572819, $2500.
309-382-3458, Il. The photo in the ad is not real clear but you can identify it as a Hemi w/ 57 style air cleaners & the spark plug wire covers are still in place.
Regards,
George Cann

Subject: Rhode Island meet pictures - and listserver rules
Hi to all :
We try harder to serve you better! Quite a few meet pictures are already
posted on our web site, in the "Events" section as usual. Here's a link
directly to that page:
http://www.chrysler300club.com/events/newport02/main.html
and more pictures to come in the near future.
Go take a peek and enjoy! Don Verity certainly put on the "perfect meet"!
Nice weather, a gorgeous setting, 40 Chryslers in attendance, 37 Letter
Series and Hursts, and, a rare occurence, all model years were represented !
Many more Club members also attended, from near and from far, without their
cars, to share in the fun ! And fun we had...
A quick reminder with regards to listserver usage : ONLY E-MAILS PERTAINING
DIRECTLY TO CHRYSLER 300'S ARE ALLOWED ON THE LISTSERVER. Please keep
this in mind. Once again, virus protection is up to individual users, and
messages pertaining to viruses and other computing matters are NOT WELCOME .
Neither are any other e-mails that do not pertain DIRECTLY to Chrysler 300's
. Please observe this very simple rule. No exceptions.
Also, with about 400 members connected through the listserver, I have been
asked to remind everyone to please SIGN their messages with their name.
Often, one cannot tell who a sender is just by looking at their e-mail
address.
Sincerely
John Hertog

Forwarding this message. Replies to: kb3ahe@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Cleaning out my basement I found some leftovers from a
past project. I found a set of "long ram" crossram manifolds. these are
definately the long runner type. (I am familiar with them and know the
difference) I know theese things are somewhat rare and hard to find. I
figure someone in the 300 club could put them to good use. I have
manifolds, carbs, and crossover / balence tube. No linkage, air filters or
heat rizers. I am located in Baltimore, Md. Rather than put them on e-bay I
figured I would offer them up here. I will entertain any serious offers,
and can be reached by email. kb3ahe@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Alex,
PST now seems to have a complete computerized listing of KYB
applications for all interchanges. I'm sure someone has the numbers
in their home computer but a call to KYB will get you shocks on the
way while everyone is returning home from Rhode Island and putting
their lives back together. In case PST does NOT have the
interchange, email KYB and they will answer you on this. Then call
in your order to PST.

Subject: 300F shocks
Hi all,
I'm in the process of getting new rear leaf springs for my 300F
through the
club, and would like to change the shocks at the same time. I've
heard good
things about KYB shocks, and have a PST catalog, but don't know
which shocks
I should order. Also, are there any special modifications I would
have to
make to get them to fit?
Any advice would be very helpful,
Thanks

Hi Group,
Just going to add my two cents worth about the meet.
Being a New Englander all my life, I knew somewhat to
expect when going to Newport, or I thought I did. In
my time as a member I've been to over ten meets. This
one has to be one of the finest I've ever attended.
Don has to be congratulated on a superb choice of
location and just the right balance of activities.
Those close who were able to, but did not attend,
should have nothing but the deepest regrets. Those of
you far away who did not attend literally missed the
opportunity of a lifetime. On to Nashville!!
300ly
Russ Vaughan

Subject: Dash Color
I was having a discussion with someone at Newport (in all the excitement of
the meet, I forgot who) concerning dash paint color. Thanks to Dave
Schwandt, a perfect match has been found. The color is a GM color, Arizona
Beige, DuPont Number 45195-D. It is available in spray cans (either lacquer
or enamel; your choice) from Tower Paints in Wisconsin. Telephone number:
414 235 6520. The label on my can indicates that it is a 1978 color, Code
62. It's fairly expensive in individual cans, but in multiple cans, the
price goes down some. A suggestion might be to buy a number of cans, and
sell those that you don't need at the next meet. Good luck" Terry McTaggart

Hi all,
while we're on the subject of paint colors, does anyone know which red paint
to use for the wheel cover centers of a 300F? I'd like to get mine
repainted, as most of the original paint has disappeared.
Thanks,

Subject: Wiper Magic!!!
Hi All,
We all know that at highway speeds with no Rain-X our wipers function
poorly in
moderate to heavy rain. Things get much worse with heavy gusty winds
along with the
spray and turbulence from other cars and large trucks. I made some wiper
modifications
on my newly restored 58. I purposely did NOT apply Rain-X and had my
first chance to
test things on the return trip from our FABULOUS R.I. meet. We ran
several hundred
miles cruising at 75 + mph in horrible weather. The modifications worked
so well I kept
hoping for even more rain, more wind and more trucks! Yes, I’m serious!
To adjust the wiper arms on the pivot splines so they “park” tight to
the lower
moulding does help. At higher speeds, wind pressure still stretches
things so the blades
get thrown over and past the compound corners of the windshield. They
lose glass
contact, jump and become ineffective. This happens even when all parts
are new or in
excellent condition.
The pivot cranks measure 2.5” centre to centre. I sawed both crank
arms, added
material and rewelded them to increase this length. This extra length
reduces the wiper
arc travel to keep the blades somewhat farther away from the windshield
corners.
To do this job requires some careful measurements. I made notes of the
procedure
I used and will share this info. with anyone who wants to do this.
Please contact me
privately.
Greg Leggatt.
