Body color on the one bolted to the fender inner. (Painted with car) 2. Dark grey or blackish "phosphate" finish on the separate hooked hold down. 3. Rubberized material covering the entire double right angle piece which goes across the top of the battery. Don't know if someone already answered you privately on this, but hope it helps out. 300ly, Gil [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 2 Date: Wed, 13 Aug 2003 09:53:09 EDT From: lhh225@xxxxxxx Subject: 55/56 300 Any one out there 55/56 C300,300B or 55 Windsor have a new left side parking lite they are willing to trade for a new right side parking lite assembly Lenny [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 3 Date: Wed, 13 Aug 2003 10:48:30 -0700 From: "David Zakarian" <arshog@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: 58 D electrical night-mare Just got the car back from the top being put on and these are the symptoms: With key on: left(drivers side) tail light and brake light don't work blinkers do not work(all) replaced the flasher with blinker lever in the off and in the right turn mode the breaker blows when brake is applied with blinker in left turn mode and brake applied breaker doesn't blow but blinkers do not work I just replaced the turn signal hardware on the chance the switch was bad. This would be my approach: First, I would disconnect the directional signal harness at the steering column. I believe you can do this without affecting the continuity of the other electrical circuits. Then I would get the brake and stop light problems worked out. I would then check to see that all the wires on the 'female' side of the directional signal connector are matching up to the correct ones on the 'male' side. It sounds like the connector was changed out and the wires found their way to the wrong slots. You should consult the schematic in the service manual to verify the connections. Let us know how you make out ! I had my steering box rebuilt .. When I put the wheel back on and rotate it one and three quarter turns either way I assume I'm at dead center . I have now had the wheel off about 8 times and every time I center it I go for a quick drive only to discover that it is out exactly 90 degrees . the black is on the right and the tan on the left . Not up and down as it should be . Is there some little trick to center I have tried lining up the wheels straight making sure the notch is on the top of the wheel and stem only to find the same problem . Is there 3-1/2 turns in a 59 wheel ? that's what I seem to end up with so I use 1 3/4 as center THANKS Ben Meisner [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 8 Date: Wed, 13 Aug 2003 23:48:12 -0500 From: Ray Jones <hurst300@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: 58 D electrical night-mare You need to look in the area where they were working on the top. Sounds like they mashed some wires together. Check around the top cylinder, follow the harnes from the taillights back to the front and look around the wheel house area. Also make sure a wrong bulb wasen't installed in the taillightsd. Like a single bulb in a double contact socket or vice versa.
