Hi Bob, The short answer is higher speed than the stock starters. I really would like to tap the knowledge base of the members to find out what would be better and the best way to go about it. The person that I spoke with makes high speed starters for high compression race engines and the like. This is a part offering she continues to provide after the passing of her husband Bob a few years back. Check the website, her contact info should be listed. I had the same problem and was able to replace the section with the stainless piece without much trouble. I just got it debugged and saw the post re: gas filler neck seal. I have accounts with industrial suppliers with my business and source most o-rings, lip seals, shaft seals and bearings. I have in bulk, filler neck and tank sender seals. these fit my 57C and would fit 57-59. Sure they would go both ways on other years. If any one is in need send $1 for ea. and I will mail back including postage. If you have a different year let me know and I will get you the dimensions. Let me know if I can help. Hi Tim, Owen Grigg suggested that I contact you and see if you can help us owners of '59-'61 with Chrysler 413 wedge/cast iron 727 TF drive trains get high speed starter replacements. Also '55-'58 hemi drive trains. The '59-'61 set ups have longer drive shafts and cannot interchange with the available high speed starters that are compatible with the '62 and later aluminum TFs which fit the shortened drive shafts of the later 413s.
