It was our first Block Party, and an interesting experience. It was a pleasure to meet the Jugles and Rita and Daryl Miller. We were surprised to see only about a dozen letter cars in the "Club 300", and even more surprised that our G was the third of three red ones! The other two were owned by the Chrylser Museum and Chrysler Marketing. Ours was the nicest, of course :) The Crossfire "Thrill Rides" and the Hemi demo ride-alongs were a little disconcerting, that's for sure - but a heck of a ride! We were also allowed to test drive a 300C and a Crossfire - Marshall found the Crossfire disappointing, but was quite impressed with the C. All in all, it was a good trip. The G made the 9-hour drive just fine. Chrysler paid for our hotel room for bringing the letter car, and we had free admission to the event. Others paid $85 - $100 per car load. There were about 10 300's on display lined up in path to see demo runs of new 300C ESP. (6 cars were from W.P. Chrysler Museum, ex-Jett red '55, black '55, red "B", white "D" coupe, white "F" coupe--from marketing, and a reg "G" coupe) Between the new Hemis screaming around and the "Thrill Rides" in SRT Crossfires, Chrysler burned up some 60 tires, filling the air all day with tire smoke. ESP allows one to set a car into "cutting a cookie" so the driver can release steering wheel and then stick hands out window... Overall turnout was not on par with PT CRuiser affair from 2001, but there was still some 3,000 people there. Bought a PT Cruiser---yellow "Woody" version. 3 speed with coaster brakes. Now if they'd just make a 300C bicycle!! L. Andrew Jugle, Elmhurst,IL ________________________________________________________________ Get your name as your email address.
