Re: [Chrysler300] MetalCrafters - reply

I have recently spent about 1300.00 with SMS reproducing embossed door
panels and also purchasing correct material for the rest of the car. [ 56
Windsor Conv.].I also obtained the chromed quilted vinyl needed for my 56
Desoto door panels. It took a couple months for it to come together. They
did all that was agreed upon.

on upholstery fabric and wanted to be assured that he was not walking in to
a pit) me in response to this email that I had previously sent out asking me
the name of the upholstery manufacture who had scammed my friend referred to
in the email. I spoke to this friend, turns out that the manufacturer is a
major distributor of upholstery fabrics, not a manufacturer. My friend was
more than pleased to give me the name of the firm. The firm is SMS and I
believe he said located in Oregon. He had paid them 700.00 cash for fabric
that was never delivered to him and was basically told by the owner of SMS
to go kiss a brick regarding getting his money back. I have absolute faith
in my friend's tale of woe. Again my friend is well known by many of you
and has an excellent reputation for the quality of his work on 300's and
Chryslers in general.

does not believe that he is confusing them with anyone. I showed him the
photos of the prototype quarters on the website and he was immediately a
skeptic. This was some 6 weeks or so ago. There also is a renown auto
upholstery fabric manufacture in the Northwest US(WA) who he also has such
an opinion of. Ordered and paid for up front upholstery fabric for his New
Yorker and in some 3 years has yet to receive it. There are in this
industry many frauds, scams and charlatans and many of our members have at
one time or another been victim. In fact I suspect that most of us have
been made promises that have been broken by some of these types of
operatives. Incidentally my friend is located in Southern Calif and he
among the best at what he does. Incidentally where is MetalCrafters
located?
