Joe:

I know there is linkage for the kickdown which we have adjusted but the
problem recurs (more below). I was told by my mechanic there is also a cable
(presumably between the linkage and the pedal) which could be the source of
the problem. Does that make sense to you? Specifically, what happens is 1.
downshifting to second when it shouldn't and 2. not upshifting to third when
it should. Also, it does not seem to behave consistently the same way.

I will contact Imperial about the shifter cable.
