Paul, The actual cancelling switch is located on top of the steering column in between where the column goes thru the firewall and the bottom of the dash. It is a simple switch held in place by 2 phillips head screws. It is curved to conform to the column. It has 3 wires which go into a single plug. Finally, you must save the roller which is pressed into place as none of the NOS switches I have found have this piece, no big deal to swap. My G had the same symptoms you describe. They went away after I replaced this switch on the column. Best regards, Richard Osborne >>> "Paul Weihl" <pweihl@xxxxxxxxxxx> 01/31/05 3:54 PM >>> Hello Everyone, Can someone please explain the operation of the Automatic Cancel Turn Switch. The switch on my "G" only works in a manual mode, that is, I have to remember to turn it to the (center) off position after completing a turn; it won't self cancel. Its hard for me to understand how the switch can cancel electrically without a physical connection to the steering wheel like the later model cars. Thanks.
