Hi Brian and all,

I am so glad you wrote to clarify the color of the car in the WPC News.  The picture sure does look like it has that reddish cast of pink silver but of course we all know that different lighting conditions can greatly affect a photo.  The interior appears to be gold or tan and that is a big clue to the color of the car.   I have since checked the color/interior data book and the tan and gold interior colors were not offered with Pink Silver.  Pink Silver was only offered with white/black, red, white, and black.

Regal Gold was offered with white/black, white, gold, and black.  So the interior is probably gold and that would fit the car.  (Tan was not offered with gold either.)

Sure is a stunning picture though.  

Now you know that I am not the least bit biased about Pink Silver. (Ha Ha)  As an interesting aside, the club database of known 300s lists only six 300Ls that are Pink Silver and they are all hardtops.  Wonder is there is a convertible out there somewhere?  Unfortunately we don't have the microfilm records for the '65 to know if any of that color were built.  I would think so however.

  Unless Mr. Gonnering has 2 L converts, or has repainted his L, the car
  pictured is gold, not silver/pink. Maybe the color didn't reproduce well in
  the photo. (I haven't seen the publication) I've seen his car at local shows
  and at the Nat'l W. P.C. meet. It is beautiful!
