Hi Gary, I would like to advise you to take a peek at the group of photos accessible thru the following link: http://www.crossrams.com/van300f/seven.html (and scroll down a couple of pictures). There are many, many little bits and pieces that make up the heat riser mechanisms in the exhaust manifolds. All of these little bits and pieces need to be present for the heat risers to operate as intended; and, both heat risers do need to operate as intended in order for the chokes on the carbs to open more or less simultaneously. Very important on dual quad ram cars... Not sure what the problem really is with "RG" - hard to tell from your description; however, a long piece of rubber or vinyl hose, with one end inserted in one's ear, and the other used as a "probe", is the best (and lo-buck) way I have found to really directly locate the source of any exhaust leaks with any degree of certainty. Move the free end of the hose until you pinpoint EXACTLY where the leak is. Works for me everytime.
