RE: [Chrysler300] rare '60 - '62 Short Rams on Ebay

One other point (maybe two).
I seem to remember that (at least for the 60 300F) a different cam (possibly undocumented spec) and different carbs (3084's instead of 2903's) not to mention real headers (instead of the log type exhaust manifolds) were required to get the additional horsepower. So, if you buy these rams and don't (can't) do the rest of the mods, don't be surprised if you're not totally shocked by any huge increase in performance.
If you have the facilities to fabricate the rest of the system, you might as well put in a French 4 speed to go along with it!

Subject: [Chrysler300] rare '60 - '62 Short Rams on Ebay

Our fellow Club member Wayne Graefen pointed out to me that the Short
Rams I'm selling on Ebay are actually not for 1963/64, but instead the
much rarer short rams produced for the 1960, 61, and 62 300's. To quote
him:

"300 Historians are fairly certain 9 short ram 300F cars were built in
1960, perhaps only a couple of 1961 300G's and again very few 1962
300H's. We're not aware of any short rams in 'service parts'."

As I explained to Wayne, these short rams were in the trunk of my 300F
when I bought the car, and, my 300F being just a simple Coupe, were not
the right rams for it. I've recently sold the car with the correct Long
Rams included, and had these "misfits" left over. No idea where they
came from, although my guess would be California, as the 300F spent it's
entire life there.

If anyone is interested I can send them pictures of the casting numbers
(2129986 / 87). The Ebay listing, which ends this Sunday, is
#4537768131.

Thanks Wayne, for setting the record straight, and illuminating me on
the existance of short rams for those years (I had no idea).

300'ly,

Alex Krikhaar
