RE: [Chrysler300] Red Engine Mystery Maybe Solved????

Canadian built cars had some really strange things compared to American built. A friend recently bought a '64 New Yorker 2-door hardtop that had a 300 interior. There were 300 2-door '64 New Yorkers made, all in Canada. This car had 4-bolt valve covers even though they disappeared in the US at the start of '63.

All G's had a fourth VIN digit of 3, Jefferson plant. None were made in Canada as Canadian cars have a fourth VIN digit of 9. The red engine in question is just flat incorrect. I doubt even a Canadian engine would have the motor mounts, damper and pulleys painted engine color. I trust this is a pre restoration picture and a car being restored at such expense, to such high standards would have the engine totally torn down, rebuilt, assembled and detailed correctly.
