Re: [Chrysler300] Fun with C-300 'numbers'

Rich:
That is correct terminalogy. I have only come across one car, a 300B,
where the engine and VIN last four numbers were identical. As Wayne points out,
that would be sheer coincidence, as there was no effort to have them
identical. 300ly, Gil

I find it interesting that the engine S/N 3NE551098 of my 1955 C-300 is
exactly 100 less than the chassis number 3N551198--and the build card
verifies this was the original combination as built on 3-12-55. I
recall reading that engine selection was fairly random in 1955, also.

I would interpret "Matching Numbers" as meaning the chassis and engine
number combination "Match" the original build ticket. Is this correct
terminology?
