Could you tell me what issue Hot Rod magazine you are referring to. I have a complete set, and would like to read about it. I get the impression you feel I was insulting the 300. Not at all. In 1957-60 I raced supercharged HEMI gas dragsters with great success in New England. The 300C I had then was my first serious car, and I loved it, which is why I bought another a few years ago. I never raced it, so I have no idea how fast it might have been. However I frequented the Sanford, ME, Orange, MA and Charlestown, RI (At which I was the strip steward for 2 seasons), and to my recollection the only 300 ever seen at those tracks was mine.
