[Chrysler300] saving a 300H

Hi Jerry, 

Your 300H is a UNIBODY car. As such, it consists of a shell (to which the
VIN tag is attached) bolted to a FRONT SUBFRAME. There is no frame in the
rear.

If the car was involved in a serious front accident, you would probably need
to replace the NOSE (sheetmetal such as fenders, hood, grille) as well as
the front SUBFRAME to which all of the front suspension components are
attached. 

All components of the front subframe will be the same with other 1962
Chryslers (short wheelbase) except for the torsion bars which are thicker on
a 300H, and possibly the brakes. 

Hope this clarifies the issue and explains why your car would still be a
"real" 300H when the repair is finished. Go ahead and save that 300H !

                      Now you're going to see how dumb i really am. I was/am

under the impression that the frame in a 62' 300 came in (2) pieces, front 
and rear. I was going to use the 'front" section if needed. As the owner 
worked at a Chrysler dealership in Houston, Texas, he has replacement drums,

"H" tousion bars, bushing, etc to complete the repairs. Now , why he didn't 
I don't know. If anyone knows where Marvin Clark from the Houston area is, 
please let me know. I'm trying to save a "H" coupe. I'm not changing vin 
numbers or in fact touching them.
