Two cars come to mind: Larry Phillips' fantastic, ulta low mileage 1962 300 Sport, and Pete Fitch's cinammon "G" coupe after a fresh restoration. Both cars experienced significant paint damage to the engine compartment, due to these old-style batteries. Thanks for giving the warning, John. I was about to do the same, having had the engine compartment paint decimated by my battery due to a faulty voltage regulator, If you want your original type batteries for show, carry them in the trunk, and replace the modern one when you get to the show. Its alot safer (and cheaper too, if you can avoid paint damage).
