THIS IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO ALL CLUB MEMBERS. I have a 1962 300 "Sport" convertible that DEFINITELY HAS a bulkhead connector. There is no way that the "H" letter car is different. I would recommend that all of the club members check their bulkhead connectors to make sure that none of our beloved 300's catch fire. It is very common for corrosion to occur in these bulkhead connector contacts and can even cause electrical fires. When I heard about this a couple of years ago, I checked out my bulkhead connector and was surprised to find that one of the contacts had actually gotten hot enough to melt the plastic around the connector such that it would not hold the connector pins any more. I found an NOS bulkhead connector housing on Partsvoice and replaced the burned out one. I cleaned all of the mating connector pins (as well as the two wires to and from the alternator/amp guage) with a wire brush. As I re-installed the connector pins into the bulkhead housing, I filled all of the cavities with silicone grease. Not Silicone sealant, Silicone Grease. It is a semi-opaque, dielectric grease. It is also used in the plumbing industry to lubricate water faucets. Thus, the underhood harness and the interior harness are separate and mate together at the firewall with mating connectors. I also have a 1962 Chrysler wire harness and it does not have a bulkhead connector at the firewall. All of the wires feed through the firewall without any connector. That is, the underhood and interior harness is one continuous piece. I am assuming that this is what Doug has so he needs to focus on the other problem areas. With best regards, Jim mplindahl <mplindahl@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Doug, I had a similiar problem with the turn signals. Make sure the wires that plug into the firewall bulkhead connector are clean. It may be necessary to take each one off, one by one, and clean with a small wire brush. Make sure the sockets for the front and back lights are clean too. Also, the sockets that the bulb fits into may need a cleaning or may be loose in the panel. One last thing, there may be a problem with the turn signal switch. All wires go through the switch. The right side front and back turn signals work but flash at about twice the normal frequency. The left side front and back turn signal lights come on but do not flash. In the instrument panel, the right indicator arrow does not light up when the signals are flashing and the left indicator arrow is a solid green when it should be flashing. I have replaced 2 defective bulbs. Help!
