RE: [Chrysler300] A/C Compressor rebuild for 1960 300F

Thanks to all. We have a 60 core available to have rebuilt so Big Yellow will not have to sit around and wait! I called Mac's radiator; they confirmed that they can do it so we will get a core to them within the next week. They are promising a 1 to 2 day turnaround at about $250. Will keep everyone posted.

Hey, good to hear we have some concensus Matt! You reminded me that it might be best for Louis to remove his compressor and take it to them to have it rebuilt before getting it charged by them as well. The 1960 compressor isn't quite the same as the later RV2 compessors and the rebuilder is not likely to have one sitting on the shelf (I would want my own rebuilt anyway) since he is apparently a fairly small concern according to Mac's. That way the yellow F won't sit at the shop until the compressor is rebuilt - at least I know I wouldn't want my F sitting somewhere out of my sight! If they recharge it, they can then check for leaks and would be responsible for any subsequent leaks in a reasonable time period.
Good luck
