Do not confuse the old older oil filled coils with some of the new ones. I had a MSD coil go bad, almost immediately, because I mounted it horizontally in my 300-F. They replaced it, at no cost, with an epoxy coil. They have since included a disclaimer with their oil filled coils that they should not be mounted horizontally but need to be mounted vertically. Something to do with the oil not covering the internal components completely, if it is mounted horizontally. They are meant to have the connectors up. Spend the $3 and get the epoxy model. My $3 worth.
