RE: [Chrysler300] 57-59 Fuel sender units & tanks

Owen,

I Installed one of these in my E and it fit after making a slight bend at
the end of the pickup tube, which allowed it to be mounted the proper
up-down direction for the float arm. The seal worked, although I used my
original retainer ring. The new one did not want to go on easy.

The gauge which had stopped reading with my original unit, now reads from
just over half when empty to near full when full. Not much help as I still
have to count gallons and miles.

I have not yet had a chance to test the ground, which may be the culprit,
add a gound wire in necessary. Any other ideas, please let me know.

Hope to work on this soon after current projects and working taxes! Will let
you know when I get it working.

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has purchased/used the new fuel tank sender units
advertised on ebay as being correct for the '57-'59 Chryslers? Item #
160095771735.

Also has anyone heard anything on the progress of the reproduction fuel
tanks for the '57-'59 cars?

Thanks

Owen
