Re: [Chrysler300]A funny Story

Mark (and Group).
I also had a fun experience seeing the tire mechanic (about 35 years
old), in the drivers seat of my 62 Chrysler 300, looking all over the
dash/ car for something that would put the car into gear so he could
drive it into the tire shop from the parking area. After about 3
minutes I walked over, from the waiting room, to show him the push
buttons - he was amazed at this method of shifting gears. Of course
the car did not move and I had to show him how to use the brake
handle. So concern I was -that he might also not know of the left and
right hand lugs-I followed the car into the shop and so informed of the
fact.

The girl at the counter asked what kind of SUV I wanted them for?? I told her they were for an Imperial. She asked who makes that?? And do I want the whitewalls out?? It gets better.
>After she wrote the work order, she handed it to a kid in the shop. A few minutes later she came into the customer lounge and told me there was a problem.? She said the stripes on the side of the tires were not white, they were blue.? It took everything I had to hold back the laughter.? I said "No kidding? I never saw anything like that. Could you show me?" She said "Ya, come on out and I'll show you."
>We went out to the tire rack where, sure enough, they were blue!? I could hold back no longer. After about two minutes of hysterical laughter, I got back up off the floor and licked my fingers and wiped off a little blue and exposed the whitewall.? Boy, she was amazed! She never knew about the miracle blue turning into white.
>Then the boy in the shop started the job.? He couldn't finish the first wheel because they didn't have any tire valves for the big hole. This place sells tires but only had the skinny valves.? I had to drive down to the NAPA store to buy the valves.?
>I'm glad I decided to carry the wheels in so I didn't have to explain?how to remove left hand threaded lug nuts.
