RE: [Chrysler300] C mufflers, rag style



I think buying exhaust piping is like buying false teeth.  You need to go in
and have them fit.  Mail order doesn't cut it.  

Some chassis are very simple and almost anything will go in without
rattling.  Most others are complex enough to require heating and beating.
My muffler guy says this is becoming a lost art as today's exhaust systems
last so much longer.

Anyone have a source for original or reproduction hangers and clamps for the
1955 C-300?

  they are in southern michigan and my experience with them is that they
suck. i bought a set of duals for a 361 in a 58 dodge and had to throw most
of the set away. werent even close. pat

  Since you are of the Street Rod persuasion, just put on a couple of 
  California Turbos. Should give you a nice purr and not be tooooo loud. 
  Replace the rear resinators with straight pipes and if the sound is too 
  Rumbly, add in a couple small resinators. These are available as 
  generic, by pipe diameter.
