[Chrysler300] rebuilding a heater valve on a 57

does anyone have a clue how to do this? i have mine almost all the way
apart. im down to the two pipes that come through the firewall. im not sure if
they are sweated together or if the rubber stop was put in another way. is this
something that i can do or should i try to source another? i tried to look up
the volvo part number but without the make and model its almost impossible to
 find.
