Val and All: The ram option for the 300/300H was similar to the "F" and "G" 400HP engines. That is, the carbs were outboard of the valve covers and the inner ram passages were cut away for about half their length to give a higher rpm torque peak. The 300J and K ram are similar. NOT the same as the Plymouth and Dodge, where the ram manifold was one piece and the carbs were inside---or mostly so---of the valve covers. 300ly, Gil In a message dated 8/6/2008 9:55:09 A.M. I have always heard of this option but have never seen one. Comments ? Please, anyone, correct me if I make a mistake. Standard motor in H was the 413 dual quad on inline manifold. The crossram was an option that I think there were about 10 sold? On the outside, only the wheel covers and the letter H on the trunk were the difference from the sport. 4 bucket seats were always a standard item with any letter car, the H was no exception. I don't know about the performance, but I heard that the crossram gave about 20 more horsepower? That's about all I can answer. Can anyone out there give a quick rundown of what the 300 model range was in 1962 - ie what were standard motor specs, features of a 300H. There have been a couple of coupes imported here recently, 1) so if they have 300H badges, (as factory), did that mean they have a 413, and what was the go with ram manifolding and bucket seats with console? - ie were ram setups and centre console standard on any 300H model, or were they by then options you must order on any 300H to get them? 2) what was the weight, performance 0 to 60mph and top speed, and how much gain was ram manifold setup over say single carb? Are they generally faster, easier to drive, better to push hard for fun, than say 300F and Gs?
