Anyone over there in the US able to explain how merging Chrysler and GM would help either struggling company - is this some sick/sad silly repeat of the failed merging od Studebaker and Packard?! Not much aussie coverage of any/supposed benefits here, all we getting daily is local news about more and more of our local major Mortgage Investment Cos freezing redemptions as also our aussie dollar has lost 40% compared to USD since July - it suffered it's biggest one day plunge on Saturday, hitting the high (no actually SO LOW!!!) 50s. And the southern drought still goes on - October looks likely only 1/7th usual rainfall. Only good news is been using my '57 TBird on the odd sunny days amongst the still alternating cool and the too hot windy crop killing days. And got mixed 12 litres of 1957 300C Gaugin Red acryclic matched to RM original 1957 paint chip, which was perfect match for unweatherd car samples from 2 factory red 300Cs of mine, unlike the 1957 Duco sample, which was too dirty brownish, and clearly so wrong compared to RM, and original samples. Part of this paint is for supercharged C, which is booked in for pre Christmas panel finish work - at last !!!! Car was built Dec 28 - hopefully panelwork finished by then, even if paint not. Hope all those with 300s overseas are either driving them, or getting them nearer finished ?!
