I'd like to publicly thank George for his comments and support. My C Handbook is exactly that:: a "guideline for judging". Never claimed to be the judge's manual but rather support material for them. That is why I deferred to the head judge on the tail lenses for example. The book is my opinion in some final analysis as is any fact book because I edited the compilation of those facts. That said, however, some quantity of the content has been discussed and agreed to by Gil Cunningham (and others) over the years. There remain the gray areas where we don't have consensus and I've made subjective calls. Over time some of those calls come up for discussion on one car or another and the advantage of a self-published Handbook has been that if I needed to tweak a sentence or paragraph to reflect a consensus view or new information revealed by an original car or literature discovery it was able to be done and included in the book. The C Handbook is still, in my mind, a "work in progress" but I am very pleased to have contributed it to the Letter Car niche of the hobby.
