Depending on the type of ceramic, it should not be damaged by those materials.

Can those ceramic filters be cleaned and reused? I recall a guy telling me many years ago, to soak the element?in oven cleaner, rinse, then soak in lacquer thinner, then blow out with compressed air. Does that make sense? Won't that damage the ceramic?
