RE: [Chrysler300] ADENDUM: F Body disc brakes on 300H ?

Jeff:

My '62 300 Sport ragtop (though not an actual letter car) has the same
suspension as the "H" letter car. I installed the AAJ conversion on it and
I put them on my '65 Fury C body as well.

Why on earth would you want to reinvent something using used junkyard parts
when the AAJ solution works like a champ. Granted the AAJ uses brand new
Chevy/Pontiac rotors and calipers available at almost any local auto parts
store (not Mopar). They just bolt on using the included machined adapter
sleeve and brackets.

The beauty of this solution is there is no grinding or bending of any
components and if you decide to later take the car back to original stock,
the original 12 inch Center Pain (pun intended) Brake drums will bolt back
on. Oh, and by the way, the Chevy rotors and calipers will allow you to run
either 14 or 15 inch wheels.

I love the way my convertible stops now. The only thing I worry about is
the ability of other drivers behind me to keep from running into the back of
my car if I have to make a panic stop.

Whatever path you decide to follow, I wish you the best of luck.

Before you all point out that tech page on the club site has 3 different
disc brake conversions - please note that they are all done with C-Body
parts whereas I am looking to use B-Body of F-Body parts.

Thank You

I've been playing around with my 300H trying to figure a way to make it
stop. I find that the steering knuckles from a Chrysler F-Body or late 70s
B-Body will fit the lower control arm ball joint. I don't have the spindles
to try but before I spend any more time and some money - has anyone tried
this combination yet and what did you learn ?

Thanks for any input !

Jeff Miklas
