VS: [Chrysler300] Wing/acorn nuts for 55-56 air cleaners

My C-300, which appeared to be rather untouched (AKA original) when I go it,
had the same set up as yours.

Looking underneath (despite the warning); the original wingnuts were open,
but unfortunately I lost these when fiddling with the carbs and taking a
spin without the filter. Currently run with replacement solid ones.

Speaking about originality: Guess there is a difference with the B, but the
hood underside of my car was positively painted flat dark grey and I have
replicated that finish.

While you're at it, what is the proper combination of nuts for the delta
wing air cleaners of 1955/56? Mine came with open wing nuts on the
carburetor studs and acorn nuts on the cans. This made it easier to remove
the entire assembly and prime the carbs before I added an electric fuel pump
to do this.

Don't look underneath.

Subject: [Chrysler300] Wingnuts for G's

Hi all,
Question for the G owners and G concours judges;

On the ram air cleaners, were the factory wingnuts all the same or were
there two different ones on each air cleaner. (Open topped vs. solid
wingnuts)

If all 4 were the same, were they open topped ones or solid.?

If there were two different ones on each cleaner, which position on the
cleaner was open topped and which one was closed (solid) topped.?

Thank you,
John Cote
