When I had my enclosed trailer, I crossed the front & rear. Never moved an inch. --- On Sun, 8/8/10, Richard Barber <c300@xxxxxxx> wrote: From: Richard Barber <c300@xxxxxxx> Subject: RE: [Chrysler300] Trailer and crossstraps To: "'Michael Galassi'" <c300lover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>, Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Sunday, August 8, 2010, 4:30 PM Thanks for sharing that experience, Mike. Those trailer wheel wells can get close and generate a bad rash. I'll try to rig some additional right-angle ties at the rear of our trailer as our CA highways are lumpy and likely to get lumpier. I think the crossed lashup at the front precludes sideways movement there but I do use a parallel lashup to the axle at the rear. Do you use a dolly type of lashup with a network of straps over each wheel to make the connection to the car? Bolted wood blocks might be an easier way to limit sideways motion at the back. I have etrack front and use Axel straps in a cross tie on frame. Ithen used straight rear Axel straps parallel to the rear. On a long haul after a 100 mi istopped to inspect and thecar shifted sideways into the wheel well ; next stop body shop I installed rear d rings at about rear bumper on each side so in addition to straight parallel There are two 90 degree at front and. Rear. Now stable even on washboard interstates Sent from my iPod [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ To send a message to this group, send an email to: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: Chrysler300-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/Yahoo!
