1) Thanks to Gil and Dave for the fact that it is two little hex head bolts that hold the hood release chrome fitting into the backside of dash of a '60 - clearly the dahes in the 60s were put together on a bench -face downwards if you like - then installed in the car, as otherwise it would just take too long fitting each individual part, attaching wiring, etc - like wghat a horror of individual items with often totally different fixings - like the area of the trans pushbuttons, wiper switch, headlight switch, remote mirror, handbrake release !!! Then say on a '60 Imperial - if it fitted with Cruise Control, you then cannot get the main large round instrument cluster out, say if you want to work on/fix, the heater a/c switch next to it !!! I thought 60s-70s GMs could be a hassle re some things (eg connecting/assembling all the rear brake shoes self adjuster stuff ??!), but boy those dreaded four letter cars (F***s) all looking so good re the ease of working on them, and my '57 300C worst headaches, seem so minor re near all 60s Mopars??! ( Like how stupid is blinker switch on column of a '60, re 1st the two screws that hold it must be got at from above column, then the wires come out of it so they break off, tthat if the plastic finger/trigger does not break off??!! And then the two screws that hold the blinker switch through the dash next to wiper switch - how do you get them back in while holding the switch in hopefully exact correct place !!! Enough, sorry to go on!! And Gil is right, they look so great when finished, boy they put some thought into so many great/special things, that make same year Cads etc look sometimes as comparision so cheap/plain?) 2) And thank you to all those who near universally recommended certain brand of 'gritless' handcleaner - if it not avalable here, anyone know what part of it works on the rubber?
