Mark, I have done it several times on a '61 G, which should be similar. It is not a simple task, but neither is separating the engine from the trans while in the car. You will need to drop the cross member and support the trans with a floor jack. The angle of the assembly is important to get it just right the clear the radiator support. It is best to have help, although I have done it by myself. I've thought about getting a device like this: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_19979_19979?cm_ven=natural&cm _cat=netconcepts&cm_pla=Google&cm_ite=engine%2520hoist It is an engine load leveler, if the link doesn't work, go to Northern Tools.com and type in Arcan engine load leveler. It's only $49.99 and I think I would consider purchasing one as the angle of the assembly becomes challenging to adjust once the assembly is in the air, this makes it possible to adjust the angle as needed. The manual says to remove the transmission before pulling the engine. Is it possible to pull the engine with the transmission on it with the radiator out or is the unit too long? The car will be on the floor and I'll be using a hydraulic engine hoist. Thanks much.
