G'day Chris- Re. the '63 pushbutons and FYI to club. The pushbuttons for the '63 Imperial are most definitely not the same as the '63 300 or 300J. The "N" button breaks most often, followed by "D" due to use. You can drive a '63 Imp or 300 without the "N" button because the '63 has the "park" lever to the left. When you engage the park lever from any gear (at a complete stop of course), it should throw the transmission into neutral if everything works properly. Make sure to raise the park lever before trying to engage a drive gear. Many pushbuttons have been broken by those ignorant of the proper operation of the '63s and '64s. A '63 Imp convert will be notably slower in acceleration than a C but will ride more smoothly. In a strong state of tune, a '63 Imp will do 0-60 in about 9.3 seconds whereas a C is on the order of 7.7 seconds. Carl Bilter Cedar Rapids, IA 300J and two '63 Imperial LeBarons _____ From: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of christopher beilby Sent: Wednesday, June 15, 2011 5:51 PM To: chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [Chrysler300] '60 & '63 Chrysler small parts needed 1) Does anyone have either a set of s/hand or new auto trans buttons that mount in the dash of a '63 Imperial - they are in a chrome vertical mounting/arrangement - the 300s may be the same, only really need the N , or Neutral one, it missing. Paypal is easiest way for me to pay for them/it plus USPS shipping to Australia. Any help greatly appreciated, it for a friend's real nice original Black Convert, and I would love to see what it drives like versus my 300Cs, plus so might he?! 2) Is it possible to slip a new front coupling tailshaft rubber over the driveshaft of '60 NYorker - again 300s may be the same so if 300 owners know, any help appreciated. The workshop manual says you can push/poke it up the inside of the outer piece if you remnove the trunion balls, but is that practical> Plus who sells just the new rubber boot/part? Sorry if not exact 300ly questions, but 300 owners likely best first helpers?
